The finer details of people's beliefs change over time. This is true of everybody from atheists to raving hardcore religious fundamentalists. Saying your current belief is a "stage" doesn't imply it's wrong or that it's some childish stupidity before you move on to the Big True Stuff.

I thought you started this thread because you had an interesting theory you were thinking about, and wanted discussion on it so that you could extend your thinking. That is a scientifically valid thing to do.

If you say it's absolute truth and you don't appreciate anybody shooting it down, how does this differ from your views on religious malarky? Posting your beliefs on the forum for discussion and then taking offense at any discussion apart from "Yeah, you're right!" seems a bit odd to me.
