Well, for my part, I'm leery of any drug that affects the brain in pretty much any fashion - from Paxil to Marijuana to Aspirin to Valium. I avoid them totally and without question. However, I am *not* convinced that this suspicion is based on any rational, established thought rather than simply a grudging paranoia or phobia, so I'm not going to push it on anyone else.

What I have to say to you is simple: Get that second opinion. This is a fairly major decision, and not one to be rushed into. Getting a second opinion will hurt nothing, and can provide you a great deal of help. And if you're not sure about it, don't do it.
