My older sister Jackie loved Bruce Springsteen. When she was killed, we blasted Bruce Springsteen at her wake. It was both goofy and sweet. Also everyone in my family plays the guitar (except for me and my father) so a lot of the music played at her wake was live. To have played anything too formal would have been incongruous, since Jackie was a very informal person. We buried her in jeans and a sweater. It may have seemd inappropriate to some, but for Jackie, it was perfect.
