Did they give any funky ugly stupid cheapo sunglasses to wear? Last time I had that test done on my eyes, it was a really bright, sunny day outside, so they gave me these really funky ugly stupid cheapo sunglasses that were so dark they were almost opaque to wear. They really helped, but I haven't worn them since for obvious reasons. (they're funky ugly stupid and cheap.)

I wouldn't call the background on Palm Pilots or LCD calcs "light-grey" but more of a medium range grey...maybe 50% of black. He's probably meaning a really light, faint tint, maybe in the 5-15% range. I can see how that would be easier on the eyes. Sometimes when my eyes are bothering me I'll adjust the brightness and contrast on my monitor to approximate that effect.
