I'm clear out of ideas, but I missed the anniversary so the birthday is do or die. If you don't hear from me again after Jan. 9, call 911. You could get her a gift certificate to one of the big book chains like Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Books-A-Million, etc. Does she like sweets? You could get her a box of chocolates, or one of those little cars filled with Jelly Bellies. Does she like to cook? You could get her a new kitchen tool or appliance, or maybe just a new and interesting cook book. Maybe she'd like a new dress, or coat, or hat, or purse? Thanks, Grishny. The bookstore gift certificate is a dandy idea. She's an avid reader. What exactly does avid mean anyway? She tells me not to buy her sweets, but she really does like jelly beans. And yes, she likes to cook and is good at it. But that's why we both keep growing. Besides, I have failed miserably at buying cookware, appliances, clothes, accessories, furniture, etc. I have searched for a pair of speaker stands for her sterio speakers, but nobody sells them. I suppose if you want speaker stands, you have to make them yourself. Correction: I found speaker stands at Radio Shack for $39.95 a pair, which is too much to pay for four black sticks stapled together. Howard
