What a shame about the Himalayas! It was so good - economical Indian food, buffet style. Estes Park is pretty much your run of the mill tourist town; the people living there resort to drugs to escape the boredom and are generally disturbingly perky. The hotel where the Shining was filmed, the Stanley, is the nicest hotel around but It's probably super expensive as well. There is no fine dining in Estes Park. However, in Glen Haven, a small town found by driving down MacGregor road, you can eat at the Glen Haven Inn, which is apparently very good. Do you plan on going hiking or skiing in Estes Park?
