When I first heard pizza referred to as "pizza pie" I thought it must be some bizarre new recipe. It nagged at me for *months* trying to imagine how you could make a pizza pie - a pie crust with a whole actual pizza inside? A pizza with an extra pizza crust on top, like some kind of pizza sandwich? A standard savoury pie recipe containing vaguely pizza-related ingredients like tomato, pepper and onion? Eventually, I heard the name used again and took the opportunity to ask "What the HECK is a pizza pie?" I was a bit disappointed to learn it's just a weird overseas term for A PIZZA.
