Somewhere else that's by the sea - even just the bay area in New York City. I don't know what it is, I just have a thing for water, I guess.

Darian,
I'm in complete agreement about the water. I love coastlines and islands. I've driven the Oregan Coast and the Carolina Coast and spent time on islands as big as England and as small as Cococay(about 10 acres) in the Bahamas. I also agree that there is a lot of commercialism in the tropics, but not everywhere. I recently spent a week in the Florida Keys and the only commercial stuff was in Key West and Key Largo at opposite ends of the chain. The 100 miles or so in between was great. I love Hawaii(the state) and my favorite islands are Molokai and Hawaii(the Big Island)because they are so wild and natural.
If you like walking in the forest, try the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, but don't get lost there! It's a real wilderness.
