Sherlock Vs. Drac Project
Columbia Pictures has snagged a spec script by newcomer
Michael Valle called Sherlock Holmes and the
Vengeance of Dracula. According to a number of sources,
the script was picked up for $700,000 against $1M. The
eventual movie would pit the great detective against the king
of the vampires in London. Word has it that Chris Columbus
may come on board the project to develop as well as direct
what the project, which is said to be in the
action-adventure-comedy vein of Universal's The Mummy.
Mark Gordon, Gary Levinsohn, Betsy Beers and Tania
Landau will produce the eventual film. Columbus' partner,
Michael Barnathan, is also likely to produce should the
helmer take on the project.

The concept of Sherlock Holmes taking on Dracula is not a
new one with a number of books written including Sherlock
Holmes Vs. Dracula : Or the Adventure of the
Sanguinary Count by Loren D. Estleman.
