The Whole Nine Yards (2000)

Reviews and Comments

This insane comedy about hired killers is quite a pleasant surprise. The comic escalation is almost perfectly timed in this farce, which features plot twists and complications galore. Matthew Perry actually does a very good job at playing everyone else's foil, a character who just can't seem to reach an upper limit on how astonished he can be at his predicament. Bruce Willis' cool performance provides for some nice subtle comedy, playing off Perry's mounting hysteria, and Amanda Peet, in a supporting role, steals the movie. The Whole Nine Yards is one of those infectious movies where you can sense the cast having fun, and that gets translated to the audience.
