What a bizarre title. "The Mystery of Mr. Wong" sounds like Mr. Wong himself is the subject of a mystery, but no, as usual he is the detective that tracks down a murderer amidst a household of interlocking intrigues. This second Mr. Wong film is inferior to the first, primarily because the mystery is not possible for the viewer to deduce himself: when Wong unmasks the killer and makes known his deductions, he provides information we were not privy to before. Good mystery stories have solutions we never guess ahead of time but could have, if only we were as observant and calculating as our favorite detective heroes.
