Lucille Ball, in one of her earliest films, plays a movie star with a publicity man (Jack Oakie) whose stunts end up being an ordeal for the actress and ultimately ineffective. Sporadically clever dialogue and goofy antics provide the fun, but the level of humor is uneven and occasionally upstaged by its senselessness. Yet the stars are fun to watch, and I Love Lucy fans might be surprised to discover how versatile Lucille Ball really was -- you won't find a lot of Lucy Ricardo in this movie's title character.
