Maybe I was in just the right mood. I can't justify it, but I liked this cheesy Hercules tale, in which Hercules and a couple of buddies penetrate the underworld to save the world. They hop from one adventure to another, some laughably bad and some actually enchanting. Like the Steve Reeves films before it, Hercules and Hercules Unchained, the acting is pretty stiff, but Hercules In the Haunted World is more lively and vibrant. It makes all the difference. I wouldn't recommend this film to just anyone, but fans of old fashioned mythological adventures might find this a pleasant surprise.
