Father of the Bride (1950)

Reviews and Comments

A popular favorite, this light comic vehicle for Spencer Tracy and young Elizabeth Taylor is a fine family comedy, alternating between humor and warm sentiment. Although the tone and pacing have some rough edges, the performances of the cast, particularly Tracy's, make this a moving film. It inspired a sequel, a remake, and a remake of its sequel.
