It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad Movie

Introduction

Citizen Kane. Casablanca. Gone With the Wind. What do these movies have in common? They're all movies you won't find on this page. In fact, if you came here looking for any movie that most people consider "good," then I advise you to leave now. Go to some old ordinary movie review site, like At-A-Glance Film Reviews, which, by the way, has a terrible movies page.

Every single movie on this page is, in some fashion, a complete stinker. Stilted dialogue, bad acting, shoddy editing, plot holes -- these movies have these things in spades. On any other movie review page, these movies would all be branded with the reviewer's worst rating.

And yet, these movies are not all the same. Some of them have a certain appeal to the type of people (and I count myself among them) who simply like bad movies. Some people won't admit it, insisting that they like a certain movie because it is "good" in some way that apparently nobody else can see. I, however, make no bones about it. These movies are bad, and in some way, I like that. Sometimes I like a bad movie because it's fun to laugh at, sometimes I just like to watch something brainless, and sometimes I just like to see people make fools of themselves.

But, as I said, not all bad movies are created equal. Lumping them all together in one low rating doesn't help those of us who like bad movies decide which ones we'd like to watch. I've tried to remedy this situation with this page.

What makes a bad movie "good" for bad movie lovers is often a subjective thing. So what you're really finding here is how much I liked or didn't like a particular bad movie. I take into account how much fun the movie was to laugh at: how inane the plot was, how bad the acting was, and so forth. The higher my rating, the more you can bet this movie is one you might like to check out with a bunch of similarly-minded friends.

Because, as everyone knows, watching bad movies is a lot more fun when there is someone else there to make comments to as the movie plods along.
