scratch disk still itching

So far, I have found that a scratch disk is a place where Abobe fiddles around with my pictures. The program suggested that I go to Adobe Help for more information. Guess what. There is no listing under "scratch." Why do computers just assume that we will know these things?

I was sitting here compiling a file of Vespa pictures and ran smack into this scratch roadblock.
