It has, in some ways. The current administration wants to ignore it, since admitting there's a problem means you have to do something about it.
Human industrial activities, particularly the ubiquitous use of hydrocarbon fuels, do play a role in global warming (along with natural cycles, of course.) How big that role is is impossible to say without study, but it is certainly a factor.

Well, not quite nothing happens. The environment doesn't care whether we deny there's a problem or not, it will just proceed to a new balance based on conditions. Those conditions will very likely cause elevation of sea level among other things.
