This wouldn't be the last ever time they'd get released. There will be some other edition later on. The theory, and it is probably quite sound, is that limited releases encourage impulse buys, whereas if something is available indefinitely, you can always put it off.

The release strategy has been working well for Disney's classic animated features, which, ever since the 80s, have only been released on VHS/DVD every 7-10 years.
