Have you ever???

I have a feeling that there are a lot of people in this country who have never driven a car. So many have learned to drive on a van or SUV or pickup, and maybe they never drove anything else.
A car is different. It is low to the ground and feels very stable compared to an SUV, for example. Cars weigh less, and don't feel like they are working as hard as a heavier vehicle. That's because they really aren't.
Cars turn easily, they accelerate quickly and easily. They are quieter and in most cases, the ride more comfortably.
It isn't all good news. You can't see over other vehicles very well and some people who are used to tall vehicles feel too close the ground. Being low to the ground causes more problems at night. An SUV behind you may have his headlights at the same level as your back window. And you sometimes get blinded by oncoming headlights.
And there is the safety thing. Cars can avoid accidents better due to less mass, and the are less likely to turn over. But if you do get nailed by a 2.5 ton vehicle, you have big trouble.
If you've never driven a real car, you owe yourself that experience. You might be in for a surprise. And I don't mean the gas pump experience, although that's another plus. Howard
