Stop trying to take a specimen. That's unnecessary. You don't have to BRING Mrs. L the evidence, but if you observe something weird enough you can always tell her about it. If Letha Cherian's finally taken off, you can easily take a good look at the specimens... and you'll know what you're looking for when you see it.
Of course, someone as paranoid as Mrs. L isn't exactly tactful; once you tell her about the evidence, it might be wise to follow her for damage control purposes.
