EFSM Help with food for teacher PLEASE!

Well, I have gotten the "food" for Mrs. Awatif....
I have given the food piece of clothing... why i dont really know, I was just messing around...
BUT, I cannot get the "food" to her. The game keeps making me set it down so no one sees it. I tried using the cart, but wouldn't let me. Right now i left it in male staff room.
What do i do?
