Play "The Early Years."

Sort of a "Fantastic Voyage" kind of a thing?
> do an adventure game inside an adventure game
After reading the rest of this thread on the subject, my official response to this one is "*boggle*".

It's a thought, although one would need far more of an idea to go on than that. In the meantime, try Murkon's Vengeance, a role-playing game where you play the bad guy.
To some degree or other, these are all workable ideas. The problem is that it is labor, not ideas, that are in short supply. For as many games as you see completed on the Adventure Games Live site, there are many times that number that were begun and abandoned at some stage of development. (I know of 109 AGL projects, including those that got finished and released.) It's just a lot of work to write these. Those that do see a project through see it through because they're motivated by ideas of their own that inspire them. Not that having suggestions is ever a bad thing -- sometimes someone else's idea will trigger a train of thought in someone else. "Fantasy Quest II" never would have happened if someone hadn't made a typo and said "FQ2" when he meant "EF2" (Enchanted Forest II).
At any rate, yes, there will be more adventure games. Don't know when. Hopefully at least one next year.
