ESM Second Time Through Stuff

So, I finished the game the first time through, but completely
buggered up my chances to get the secret area, cause I didn't
know about it.

Anyway, I started over, and I've completed all the tasks but one-
the physics profs. I have not done the physics profs because in
so doing, you lose a certain item that you need to complete
the...

lets go ahead and call it the Bathroom Ritual, for sake of
vagueness.

HOWEVER, I can't get the instructions, because Milady Fernandes
keeps interrupting me. I have a theory about how to get past
her, and I'll test that when I'm done here, but I guess what I'm
asking is...

It is possible to get the instructions without completeing the
physics profs, right?
