St Mary's - fertiliser, English teachers and time travel

I seem to be completely stuck in Escape from St Mary's (again). I can't get the bag of fertiliser, I can't do anything about the fight between the English teachers, and I can't do anything useful when travelling back in time. I think I also need to know how to sharpen things.
