You're right, almost. Corfu town has a v appealing old centre, plus a Venetian fortress and a few other bits. There are the odd monasteries and old churches dotted around the island, but mainly it's olive trees, walnut trees, heat and cicadas - and tacky resorts with topless beaches (but then this is the Med, so you expect that).
