Have you talked to the man in the city in the portal yet? If you have you'll know it takes 1 gold piece to get your face painted as a wizard.
Now who do you know in the area with money? Look around near him and you'll find something interesting. Also, when you're done with that, there is another place in the portal you need to explore. There is a man there that you need to talk to in order to get much farther after that. If you need any more help, just post!
