I don't know, but I strongly suspect last weekend's limited release of "The Straight Story," the newest work by director David Lynch and only non-weird, G-rated entry in his filmography (the rest include "Blue Velvet" and "Lost Highway"), has something to do with it. What's next? The Coen brothers directing While You Were Sleeping II? David Cronenberg remaking High Noon? Or the Disney animated remake of Pulp Fiction?
