This is a tricky area -- but keep in mind that there are some spots that will launch you *forwards*. You just have to keep stepping on squares you haven't checked yet until you find the more helpful ones, as well as anything useful that might just happen to be lying around.

I can't give you full directions, as I haven't done the maze for a while, but if one square doesn't help, avoid it the next time. And make sure that you have the location spell in effect -- because otherwise solving the maze will be almost impossible.
