Number 1 is about failure. Future failure. Typically, it's ranking is as high as one (sorry 'bout the pun) can go. The only way to go is dooowwwnn.
Conversely, number 2 is still very exceptional in rank, and has room to grow. For life itself is about potential and growth. You, as number 2, inspire such growth. You are (as Bill Murray put it in "Stripes") 'the acorn that can become the mighty oak.' Besides, Robert Wagner's a pretty okay guy even if he did steal a fembot.
