1. There's a different way to get into the shack, and the pick is needed for one or two other tasks. But not for breaking and entering.

2. You wouldn't be doing anything with the Boulder of Doom at this early point in the game. Maybe later. I think you have everything you need -- try going somewhere you couldn't get to yet.

3. Depends on the dragon. You might not need to get past the creature, or you might have a lot of work to do. Possibly the former, as you said you are at an early stage of the game.

4. Not in your home world, not really.

5. See 2.
