Tomorrow, early, we are off to the scooter meet in Cochran, Georgia. I am taking two ratty (read that; unrestored) looking scooters. One is my 1963, Cushman Super Silver Eagle and the other is my 1953 Pacemaker. The Eagle is the model with the longest name of any Cushman. The Pacemaker can be called a "60-series" or a "model 62," or a "turtleback" or more correctly by its proper name a Cushman Pacemaker. Both scooters need paint. The Pacemaker needs a few minor sheet metal repairs. But both should run around for the whole four days*.

There is a lot of good southern food available down there in deep Dixie, and by now we know all of the good places to eat. I might gain a pound, but I 'll come home tired and happy.

I am looking forward to seeing friends that I usually see only once or twice a year.

Think about it. My favorite social events are scooter meets where old coots tinker with their antique scooters and tell lies. I must lead a sheltered life.

*The meet lasts a week, but we are only staying four days. I have to hurry home to check this forum.
