Early Years- Vampire Hall

I am playing Vampire Hall. I have killed the vampire west of the "dark" room and could not find the other vampire. I am in the room that you get to by going west from the banquet room, then south. I have never been able to go west from this room, or from the room with the trapdoor under the bed, due to "strange forces". I have walked through Vampire Hall for hours but cannot get rid of these two "strange forces".
Here is my inventory.

An Iron Key
A Cross
An Assortment of Golden Coins

A Silver Key
A Thick Branch
A Signed Document

Am I missing something? I found a carrot in the lowlands, but I gave it to the horses. I gave the witch in the lowlands a mouse, so I can't get another mouse. Thanx in advance for any help.
