We went to Galinburg over the weekend, and stayed in our daughter's rental house. She didn't charge us any rent. Our other daughter was also there with her family and we had a really good time.

Well, yes, I guess I did eat too much. I also played pool with a seven-year-old. And I went walking up and down some really steep hills. It snowed a little and the temperature at noon, when we left, was 20 degrees F, the coldest day we have seen this year. There was an outdoor hot tub up there, but we didn't use it.

Gatlinburg is a little calmer in winter, but there were still a lot of people there. There is a ski resort on Mt. Harrison, nearby, and they were making artificial snow like crazy. Dollywood was only a few minutes away, but it was closed for the winter.

Up there, it's real easy to stand and look out the windows for long periods. The mountain tops got more snow than where we were, and the sun really made them shine.
