> As for me, I'm plowing through Paul Johnson's ginormous Modern Times, which is fun, as he's always sassy and fun to read. My problem with his history books (I've also read his american history) is that his prose is so fun to read and goes down so easy that none of the information he gives "sticks" to my brain. but oh is he fun to read.

I had to read part of that for a class I just took, and found his style to also be easier to read, and a lot of the history to be interesting. Some of his views on things are kind of questionable, but so be it.

I'm currently reading John Keegan's The Second World War. Absolutely excellent book on, what else, World War II.
