Two things:
1. You never need to start over in these games (as the instructions page makes clear); you're never permanently stuck. And clearly, if you start over because you're stuck, you just reach the same point and get stuck again.
2. Since both of your questions (I'm counting the double-posted "where's the tree" question as one question; please post questions once, unless you accidentally click twice on "post message" which clearly isn't the case here because of differences between the messages) have been asking for how to get to accessible locations, I strongly recommend you make a map so you can keep track of how to get to each location.
