well, I see you've been upstairs. You need to go back up there. sometimes, when you're in a panic, you can get into places you couldn't before. Oops-- strike that. I see your "soot" now. go back & chat with the old lady again. repeatedly, even.
she has some help for you, if you stick to it. she's prob'ly thirsty, too. :o)
