GoA--Plates? Darius?

I have:
560 Gold Coins
/ Guard's Sword
/ Bucket
/ Portrait
/ 10 Red Gemstones
/ Stone of Strengthening
/ Wire Clippers
/ Gray Focus Stone
/ 5 Black Gemstones
/ Food Rations
/ Key of Opening
/ Crate

I've gotten into the shack, but I couldn't find
anything. I've fiddled and fiddled with the
marble plates, but still can't get one to budge.
And I believe I'm supposed to be interacting
with Darius soon, but I have no clue where to
find him.

Any hints, nudges, whatever, will be muchly
appreciated!
