The Earth is round and there are no "poles" in the longitudes, so what counts as "the other side" of any longitude (for example the date line) is subjective.
EST is five hours behind UTC (previously known as GMT) and EET is two hours ahead of UTC. That means that if you go east from the Rinkworks server, I am seven hours ahead, without crossing the international date line. But if you go west, then I am seventeen hours behind, but you have to cross the international date line, so that adds one full day.
Based on this information, I would conclude that by "common sense", we are on the same side of the date line.
