Gah. I'm so sorry. :( When I get excited about things I tend to forget there may be others who don't know what I mean. It's not your fault.

Basically, this is a program that lets you use your computer almost like a telephone. If you have a microphone that you can connect to your computer, you can use it to talk to other people all over the world via the Internet - I mean real talking, not typing. In a lot of cases you can do it for free if the person at the other end has the same program.

Both "Teamspeak" and "Skype" are computer programs that let you do this sort of thing, but there are differences. Skype is much more like a telephone system, or so I'm told - you use it to "call" other people and you can then talk to them. It even works with normal phone numbers too, although it costs you then. Apparently, Skype's pretty easy to use. You can find out more at http://www.skype.com/ .

Teamspeak goes about the same sort of idea, but in a different way. With Teamspeak, someone sets up a "server", which acts as a central hub. Then, individual people connect to that hub (server), and talk to everybody else on the server. It's kind of like a conference call system where all the people who wanted to talk might dial into the same number, and then the system allows them all to talk to each other at the same time. (That's a simplistic way of looking at it but that's basically what it's about)

Agaim, don't berate yourself for not knowing what I meant. It's my fault for using jargon. In any case, I hope it helps.

- Ciaran.
