Having recently moved into a new place, I have no ability to watch dvds or videos anymore (my tv was donated by a friend of the family - I am eternally grateful, but it is so old school that I can't even hook up my pillaged VCR to it). So, it took me quite a whole to remember the last three, sadly. Need to do something about the situation.

Anyways:

LOTR: Fellowship - over the course of two nights on tv. There was a lot less to it than I remembered - as compared to the books the first part of the journey kind of went lickety-split. Still don't like Elijah Wood as Frodo - more cherub than hobbit really.

Bull Durham - on tv. My favorite sports movie, no question. Probably one of my plain-old favorite movies. I then found it for really cheap on dvd a few days later, so I bought it. Which I guess maybe wasn't so smart given that I can't watch it.

Boats out of Watermelon Rinds - A Turkish film at the Toronto Festival. I had always wanted to go, and I was finally in Toronto for it, so I picked up some same day tickets. It turned out to be this really charming film about young Turkish boys who want to build their own film projector - the whole thing was winning and smart - and there were some absolutely hilarious scenes where they are pulling the film through their projector, waving their hands in front of it to act as the shutter.

Nothing within the past week though, sadly.

Jo
