Actually, the first five people who come to mind when I think of the most influential people of this millennium are, in no particular order, Shakespeare, Descartes, Newton, Kant and Elvis. Elvis is responsible for shaping a very large part of today's society - he changed the face of popular entertainment drastically, and, more than twenty years after his death, he is still as popular as he ever was. How many other entertainers have churches devoted to them? Yes, Elvis was influential.
