Fantasy Quest 2 River Chase

I'm stuck. I can't get down the river. I go left then duck then right then duck then I've tried three different ways at the high wave area but the next area when everything happens always kills me. How do I get past it? I thought maybe you have to search for the fruitloop and the other guy somewhere else but I can't find them hiding out anywhere.
