Answers to various questions above:

Kendra buys a soda with her credit card, presumably drinking it right away, even though it doesn't mention it in the text. You can't use dollars or quarters there (at least, you're not given the option to try that in this game).

The dollar bill can only be used for the 75-cent sandwich purchase. The two quarters in the game can only be used for making phone calls. The game allows you to call Kenneth twice, if you want, but it won't let you call the parents more than once (ostensibly because Kendra doesn't want to have to sit through another round of questioning by her mother, but in terms of game design because this would lock you out of being able to call Kenneth and access GSIP).

The nerds are willing to go on the drive, but if you try it, you'll find that Kendra doesn't allow them to come along.
