I wouldn't worry about it. Well, naturally, being 70, I wouldn't worry about it, but you don't need to either. It will never happen. Can you think of a better way for a Congressman to *not* get re-elected? And they would have to draft girls!

We went down that road once before, but that was a different time. After WWII, most people realized that it was not a good thing, but there were people in high places that thought war was a good thing, so they hung on to it for decades. The draft monster killed people, disrupted lives, and drove a lot of people crazy. We aren't going to go through that again,

They finally figured out that by paying what the job was worth, they could maintain a better quality military, and do away with the draft. Drafted soldiers were not payed enough to own a car or get married. In the 50's, it was $90 a month to start and raises were small and slow. Yes, that was more spending power then than it is now, but still not much money. Full-time civilian jobs paid about $250 a month to start, and workers who produced got good raises.

If you haven't read what Stephen said about those draft bills in Congress, take time to do that. And don't worry.
