Perhaps those magical creatures to the north of the store will help him after you take him there. but be sure and look all around where you found the indian including south. you might get something that will admit you to the castle gardens.

I guess I am too "rookie" for this. The Indian won't go over a bridge or jump in the river. I looked south of the Indian and where he was. I don't remeber what I found there anymore. Any other hints without a spoiler? Thanks for the help
