level 8 key

I know I cannot ask for an outright location, but I have frustratingly steped on every single square of level 8 and I cannot find a key to open that bronze door to save my life. Is the key even on this level? I don't want an explicit answer, but any guidance in the right direction would be appreciated. I know my characters are leveled up high enough because I am able to nearly clean out this level. And I can access level 9 through that other door in that maze of doors, but I really want to see what's behind that mysterious locked bronze door. Thanks
