What have you picked up so far? Post your inventory; even at this early stage of the game, the inventory is ALWAYS important.

Thrown any rocks at the dorm windows? To the point that there's a bunch of fire trucks pulling up? If not, go do that.

If so, well, the library's accessible. You may need to use a similar method to lure the security guard out, then when he's out looking for who broke the window, slip inside.
