Help with Murkon's Refuge

Okay, I feel like a complete idiot, but perhaps
someone can help me.

I've managed to get to Level 2 of Murkon's
Refuge, but I seem to be unable to find any
towns so far. I hate having to haul my
backside back to Perinn on Level 1 every time
someone in my party gets poisoned or killed
or something. Any advice?
