I don't see the dinner invite in your inventory, but since you have the red dress I assume you got the invitation. (If you're carrying the dress and high-heeled shoes, though, what are you wearing? You can't get into the dinner wearing the clothes and shoes you had at the start of the game, no matter how stylish. Go change.)
