I didn't think they were that rare...I thought I found at least a dozen of each my last game. Perhaps the likelihood of finding them after a battle depends on how the battle was fought, or perhaps some other parameters? I don't know. I thought the Blade of Power was the rarest.

It looks to me like the gloves are a lot better for the Sorcerer than the buckler is for the Wizard, but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with rarity, I suppose.
